I think once one realizes why Iranians have insisted on using Hawk as a basis for their mid-range air defense, there will not be any redundant questions.
The HAWK missile system saved Iran perhaps years in development time for its own home grown system. A very intelligent decision in my opinion. In fact, Iran has extended such strategy on at least several other weapon/military systems in all branches such as Jamaran/Mowj, all anti aircraft guns, tanks and APCs and so on.
In the case of Hawk, Iran saved much cost and time in developing the structure and the aerodynamics of the missile itself. The carry over of the launcher, loader, missile radar structure have equally saved millions of dollars in new design and development cost not to mention the time which Iran could not afford given the constant threat environment against Iran. Finally one should already take into consideration of the proven and tested technology of HWK in battle as oppose to untested designs and also the amount of time and funds saved to retrain the ground crew for a new system.
All and all, Iran must be congratulated for its strategy of weapon system developments across the board instead of launching less than sophisticated criticism.

P.S. I wished I could see a test of the new system against a supersonic target as oppose to a slow moving drone.
