In the last photo I posted, I see the refueling probe attached to F-5 From F-4E's areal refueling tank
to illustrate how it is done!

I noticed the following in the last air maneuvers in Tabriz. The Drop fuel tank under the center bay looks much different than
I ever remember.

Looks like a fairly standard 600 gallon centerline-tank. It looks a little distorted but that might just be the angle of the picture / quality of the image, your call.

According to RH53D from IDF, it's a 'combat documentation camera' and there should be another one fitted to the rear of the aircraft that looks backwards. Apparently they were/are used both for recon as well as BDA (battle damage assessment). RH53D also notes that in some of the early incarnations they would of had to sacrifice one of the AIM-7s carried under the fuselage (such as in this picture), but this looks like one of the later models that wouldn't have to do that.

Ayyash,

Pay attention to the lower section of the tank. It is gradually having smaller across section. Also the rear of the tank does not
have smooth curvatures.

Compare with the image bellow!

Possibly, but I'm not sure that I wouldn't write that off to the angle of the camera and the overall low quality of the image. It could be an EW pod in the same vein as the Sahab or some sort of buddy-buddy system but i'm inclined to say that a cigar is most likely just a cigar in this case.

Do you have any other screenshots from the video?

Ayyash,

The image was from a video in the last air force maneuvers in Tabriz. I am sure the video is still in that appropriate thread.

To me, it looks more like a PGM or a new cruise missile.

Municipality of Tehran is constructing "Scared Defence Garden Museum".They were transporting this F-4 to there,Coincidentally I was there and took this image in front of it. There are other fighters like F-5 inside the museum too. This museum hasn't been yet inaugurated. but two years ago  they opened it for people temporarily during Scared Defence week.
Here you can find some images of this garden museum that have been taken on that time.

If you search about it in Farsi you can find interesting information about design of this garden museum.

3-6704 / 86906 (cn 3357) It has received two artworks (which are seen on its engines air intakes) after its fully modernization program. Iranian Air Force is last operator of the Phantom II type in the world, all of its handful F-4Ds are all gathered in 101st Tactical Fighter Squadron in 10th Tactical Fighter Base "Konarak". IRIAF has planned to do this life etxtension project on all of its F-4Ds , which is allowing them to remain in service until 2020!!

This one is a collector! I think Iran is the only airforce to operate the F-4Ds.

It's a former Luftwaffe F-4 E disguised into an IRIAF Phantom ;)
A brief note about the phantom, during simulated air combats, Luftwaffe Phantoms shot down USAF F-15.

To show off? Seriously the F-14 and F-15 were meant to replace the F-4 but that didn't really happen.
Of course the F15 is technologically superior the f-4 but technology doesn't top everything. The F-4 is a solid truck and the most recent versions have been upgraded.

No combat aircraft has such a record in A2A combat as F-15. It is totally in its own class, or even, a couple of classes above the next ones..
“I searched for God among the Christians and on the Cross and therein I found Him not. I went into the ancient temples of idolatry; no trace of Him was there. I entered the mountain cave of Hira and then went as far as Qandhar but God I found not. With set purpose I fared to the summit of Mount Caucasus and found there only 'anqa's habitation. Then I directed my search to the Kaaba, the resort of old and young; God was not there even. Turning to philosophy I inquired about him from ibn Sina but found Him not within his range. I fared then to the scene of the Prophet's experience of a great divine manifestation only a "two bow-lengths' distance from him" but God was not there even in that exalted court. Finally, I looked into my own heart and there I saw Him; He was nowhere else.”

Hehe, "solid truck" sounds good  :D I remember how loud the phantoms were when they whooshed past in low-altitude flight around Spandahlem in the early eighties. At that time low-altitude flights were allowed in many places in germany and the houses around Spangdahlem get paid fourfold and eightfold glazing by german state ^^

They usually use the Kill ratio. The tomcat claims an amazing 164-1 kill ratio, (159 kills by Iranian F-14s to 1 los)..(Farzad Bishop).
The F-14  was lost to engine stall then gunned down by a Mig-21. Iraqi pilots made more kill claims but not yet verified.
The F-15 ha a reported 105:0 kill ratio (At least an Israeli F15 was severely damaged and had to make emergency landing), Syrian Mig-23 and Serbian Mig-29 pilots made kill claims but they were never verified.

But it's worth being noted that the F-15s and the F-14s never met their match in real combat.

It's a loud smoky diesel truck..;that's why the German F-4 pilots wear a thick goat leather jacket. their Iranian counterparts wear an American model Avirex/Alpha industries type jacket ... I wonder why Iranian pilots never wear leather jackets ... I’m getting off the subject

Top gun?

The jackets on the Top Gun movie are far from being USAF standard jackets! they are closer what the P-47 or P-50 pilots would wear.
Iranian equipment including the jackets are very close to USAF standards (alpha 2b Jacket?).

The Luftwaffe F-4 and mig-29 pilots have their own jackets, including the green/grey goat leather jacket (the one with side pocket is dedicated to civilians). A few years ago I picked up one at a military surplus store and they are really top quality.

I believe people were more stylish in the good old days. here are some Iranian cadets in the early 40s!
