If Iran is clever it should allow the Qataris to do this and profit from this under the condition that the Qataris invest in R&D projects related to aviation in Iran. Sanctions can easily be bypassed by using the profits generated within Iran as an investment fund.

Qatar is US puppet, Iran should be very careful dealing with it. If it comes to war, Qatar forces will be fighting against Iran, like it did in Lybia.

We kind of have to since we are sharing the Persian Gulf gas fields.

Besides that, you know what a Qatari general said about possibility of war with Iran? Meaning their true understanding of the situation in case of a war and their siding; "the distance between Qatar and Khatar (meaning danger in arabic) is 0:46 seconds" the time taken for Iranian missiles to whipe Qatar off .

This is from their own understanding of geopolitics and the real consequences of decisions based on concerns for the west.

Guy's, politics is not as simple as "XYZ is a US puppet thus we leave them to their own accord". Building strategic diplomatic and economic ties is the best means to achieve security and prosperity specially with neighboring countries. This is currently Iran's foreign policy strategy at the moment.

And, Crazy Ivan, i study politics not anything financial related.

But is there really a need? Why not building the AN-180 or AN-218 under licence?  It makes independed and brings knowledge.

Im not going to argue whether this is a good deal or a bad one, but I think the idea  just wont fly for domestic flights due to security issues.  It may fly for international flights to doha or europe but domestucally no way in hell, if you know the iranian system.Iran still has the option to purchase tu204 and antonov planes and circle sanctions the way it has circled before.
