I'm going to post movies that I watched and what I think about them. Feel free to add your own movies. The last movie I watched was:

Daybreakers:

Its about a scenario where almost everyone is vampire and they use the last few humans to farm them for blood. Genere is Sci-fi/Fantasy I guess.... it was okay... not worth watching the cinema of course.

Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant:

Its about two teens becoming vampires and are supposed to lead vast vampire army. Obviously has teens as their target group... I found it amusing enough to keep me watching it till the end.

Pasdar, no offense but are you a 16 year old white American middle class girl? If not, you have no business watching these vampire flicks.

Anyway here is a movie that is worth watching:

One of the first war movies to not be a meaningless piece of propaganda. It's set in France during World War II. An offensive is planned against a German trench. The offensive is poorly coordinated and results in thousands of casualties. Three of the soldiers from the division are tried for cowardice as a means for the high command to cover up their reckless disregard for their own men's lives.

There are three genres that I like: Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Comedy. I rarely watch movies from other genres. :p

I believe horror movies are made by mentally ill people and people who watch them become mentally ill. In fact, I heard an Iranian psychologist say that even if you feel the horror movie doesn't affect you, the movie will surface even after 30 years in the shape of subconscious fear and other such things.

I really wish their was a list of Iranian war movies and personal ratings.

the last few films i've seen:

let the right one in.

This is a slightly disturbing and good vampire flick that isn't cheesy and is well developed.

Invictus

This was a good film about post apartheid south africa, and the most important thing for me was how it showed how mandela didn't seek cheap revenge over the afrikaans.

' he spent 30 years in this tiny cell, ready to help the people that put him here'

Hurt locker

an abstract apolitical reflection on bomb disposal in iraq and the adrenaline rush.

it reflects on the cynicism of troops and differing motives and experiences soldiers have, many of the characters being composite characters based on actual people the journalist author encountered whilst being a journalist embedded within U.S units.

Your picture is not showing jackson. New movie I watched:

Whiteout:

Genre is Crime/Action I guess.. not the usual movie I watch... I fell asleep... its about a soviet airplane crashing on antartica and a US researches base there... a group trying to grab what was on the plane (which crashed long ago)... lots of killing and a mentally disturbed police offer (the woman)... I found it boring.

Watched the movie 'growth', scifi/thriller, talk about boring, its a B-movie (made for TV rather than cinema) lol.. its about some researchers using parasites to enhance human capability, but it goes all wrong, as the parasites seem to feed on the humans.

I don't agree SOBOH, I think its a B/S anti-religious propaganda film, and a bad one at that. The movie has holes all over its plot. For example, if you have to say the truth, why would you open your mouth in the first place if you have something bad to say? And if you also speak your mind, why wouldn't you say much more than they already say? Because there is way more going on on peoples heads... its a boring b/s movie. :)

Stay:

About a guy dying, the whole movie is about a guy's last minute of life. You keep watching it until the end, and then you wonder... wtf... did I watch it for this lame ending? I was hoping for something more.

regarding the anti religion im with you, there is a couple of scenes that make u want to vomit and I kept saying Sta3'fir Allah all the time.... the movie was somewhat boring at most stages, the reason I said to watch it was because of the idea they had in mind was interesting.....  how the world would be a better place if we lie all the time. That I dont agree on generally but I guess that was the point of the movie hence the title.

You know me Pasdar brother, i hate watching anything that contradicts anything I was raised to believe is true through my religion or my family or my ethics... but then again if I always thought like that then I wouldn't watch 99% of the Hollywood movie's.... to me most of them are anti religion and FULL of propaganda..... so sometimes I have to compromise for the rest in order to really understand what they meant behind the making of this kind of specific film.... just because we dont agree with something doesnt mean we should watch it. ;)

(I might fast forward on scene's someitmes)

Jeez how many movies do you watch per day Pasdar :D

Latest movie I saw on cinema was the Batman flick. And last DVD was Apocalypse Now (probably the best film ever made. Poetic at times)...

Unlike you people I have better things to do. Like reading books on the institutional development of post-kolonial Africa. FRIGGIN FUN! :(

Its seems I watched 5 movies this week, hehe. You've got to organize your day so you can get everything done, and maybe watch a movie before you sleep. Though I have to say, I haven't watched this many movies in a long time. Maybe part of the reason is my son went on vacation with my parents...

Majid Majidi is working on a movie based on the life of the prophet (s) from childhood until the moment of prophet hood. I can't wait!

Law Abiding Citizen:

Normally I don't watch this genre, Crime/Thriller/Drama... but I watched it because MOH suggested it. Its a guy pissed at the broken US law system... his wife and daughter were killed and he doesn't get justice and the criminal is let go. He then takes his revenge on the system.
