TEHRAN: Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Saturday the Islamic Republic would soon announce "very important" achievements in the nuclear field, state TV reported.

He was speaking on the 33rd anniversary of the Islamic revolution. Tens of thousands of Iranians joined state-organised rallies across the country to mark the occasion.

Demonstrators carrying Iranian flags and pictures of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei chanted "Death to Israel" and "Death to America".

"In the coming days the world will witness Iran's announcement of its very important and very major nuclear achievements," Ahmadinejad told a crowd at Tehran's Azadi (Freedom) Square in a speech relayed live on state television.

He gave no details. Tension with the West over Iran's disputed nuclear work has risen in recent weeks. The United States and its European allies have imposed new sanctions to try to force Tehran back to talks before it produces enough nuclear material for an atomic bomb.

Iran says its nuclear programme has only peaceful purposes.

And that will they announce?

loading domestically built N.fuel plates on Tehran research reactor.

That would be great. It will show the arrogant powers that no amount of illegal and unjust sanctions, terror attacks against scientists, military threats and destabilization attempts will manage to halt Iran's nuclear progress. This will make the enemy nervous, as it realizes all its hostile policies were in vain. Cooler heads among enemy decision makers, and the public in those countries, will understand there is simply nothing they can do against Iran's ownership of nuclear technology, and must learn to respect Iran's legitimate and contractually guaranteed rights.

I think it will be Iran's ability to manufacture fuel plates and something to do with Fordow..In fact, this Fordow plant has messed up the enemy's plans big time..They'll practically have to use several tactical nukes to be able to cause damage to it..It turns out nuclear weapons can't destroy mountains..So God created something more powerful than nukes..All the sanctions against Iran is their response to the Fordow plant..They're just pissed they can't do anything about it now..Too late!!!

Iran doesn't need nuclear weapons to destroy Israel and this is a fact.

Iran has been under pressure ever since the revolution for various reasons. This whole situation has never been about nuclear weapons, it is a pretext for piling on the pressure. They want to remove Iran from the region and would continue to try and do it with or without the nuclear programme. 

The day Iran announce she has a nuke with a delivery system ... all will be peace.

Pakistan is US slave, cross them off the list. North Korea has no natural resources otherwise it would have survived just like Iran.

Btw, strange that only countries without nuclear weapons get attacked,invaded. Right ?

Dont mind western propaganda. They are fully capable of defending themselves and their people.

But i agree on Pakistan... they still havent been able to cooperate over the planned fuel pipeline, just to give one example...
