Iranians Show Strong Support for Islamic Republic

TEHRAN (FNA)- Millions of Iranians in Tehran and other cities poured to the streets to show their unconditional support for the Islamic Republic through staging massive rallies on February 11th, marking the 33rd anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran.

Huge masses of people from all walks of life converged on streets and squares all over the country to express their support for the cause and ideals of the Islamic Revolution.

More than 1,700 foreign reporters have covered the Bahman 22 (February 11) rallies.

In Tehran, demonstrators then congregated at the Azadi Square, Tehran's main square and the site of major national rallies over the past three decades.

The nationwide rallies also prove to the world that the brave Iranian nation is fully ready to resist and challenge the enemies of Islam and the Islamic Republic.

Led by the Founder of the Revolution, Imam Khomeini, Iranians confronted the forces of US-proxy Mohammad-Reza Pahlavi in late 1977 to end his oppressive, cruel and autocratic rule over the country.

By December 1978, millions of Iranians would take to the streets in protest against the policies of the Shah on a regular basis.

Grand Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini returned from exile to Iran to be received by millions of cheering crowds after the departure of the Shah in mid-January 1979. Two weeks later, the country saw the victory of the Islamic Revolution.

The final collapse of the Shah's regime came on February 11 when the military renounced its loyalty to the Shah and joined the revolutionary forces.

On this day 33 years ago, people took to the streets to celebrate the collapse of the Pahlavi Dynasty and the emergence of the new era.

Mashallah, huge attendance. As every year, in 2012 the revolutionary Muslim people of Iran delivered another big punch to the face of the global arrogance, whose incessant attempts to undermine the Islamic Revolution have alhamdollah always failed.

My goodness..I think the West is really miscalculating the support Iranians have for their government..I'd advice them to enter dialogue with Iran ASAP and desist from their foolish Israeli-driven approach to the country before it's too late..Their latest sanctions are rather generating a lot of hatred and eroding whatever little support they had in the country..

They shouldn't let a few misguided exiled Iranians who'll say anything and do anything for money, feed them BS and paint a wrong picture of what's going on in the country. If they were convinced the government's about to fall, which they've been saying for a while now, today they got their answer..Iran's never going back to the days when they were mere tools for Washington's plans for the region..They better shape up and get use to Iran's independence and stop their stupid dreams of the "collapse of Iran"..

HAPPY Anniversary... :) :iran: :iran: :iran:

How do you arrive at that conclusion? And how did you manage to count them all? Facts please...

I did not arrive to conclusion but only asked a question. In my opinion partipication was very good but some iranians (prowestern) trying to spread opposite wievs.

I won't be surprised if the exiled Iranian opposition say there were only 3 people at the rally..Their lies know no bounds..They're supposed to lie to their handlers to get whatever support they get. It's their job...According to them, 99% of Iranians hate the governments..Lest just do a simple analysis..Lets say there were at least two million people at every rally in all provinces of Iran..How many people do you think will be out there in total? I even heard some people say the government bribed people to attend rallies..I mean, seriously, can the government afford to pay millions of people just to "show up" on the streets?

This rally is a big blow to the opposition and their Western backers and they'll use any amount of lies to console themselves..I won't be surprised if they manipulate some of today's images and present them as opposition rallies sometime in the future..

If so it's a additional proof to iranian islamic nation's greatness. Sincerely I was in recent days worried that because of some economic problems and maybe cold weather partipication would be slightly decrerased.

Congrats to Iran for the anniversary. Hopefully more and more years of such anniversaries are celebrated. Islamic Republic has been good friend to Armenia - hopefully it will only get better!!

According to reuters news, tens of thousands attended the celebrations across Iran!!!
I guess if it was an anti-Revolution rally they would have reported tens of millions!!!
If anyone comes across photos from other cities around Iran could you please post them! Thanks in advance!
