I have no experience in parachuting but looking at the terrain the jump seems to be from 1500 ft or so. I see a valley under the bridge and as such unexpected air flow through the valley. So, it must be a difficult task to land exactly at the marked location having very little room and time to maneuver. As one can see, the men keep taking wind measurement to the last second before each jump. Then they jump and try to arrive at marked location by first passing it and then turn into wind to control the chute better to land. But, the wind flow is not as predictable near the valley floor so that is where the challenge is for these experienced commandos. It is all an exercise!

Interesting.  An army unit practicing hostage release--i'm assuming this is military related hostage taking rather than a civilian affair where NAJA seems to have SWAT as well.

I've heard that the 65th brigade has a specific sub-unit that specializes in hostage-taking/hijacking operations (Rahani-e gerogan). I would suspect that this is what's being depicted in these exercises.

 This is supposed to be their patch:

"Hostage-taking"? The patch states "Hostage freedom", nothing about hostage taking as you referred!

Ayyash-jan, perhaps it was a typo, but just in case, the patch spells 'raha'i-yeh gerogan' or strictly 'raha'i gerogan'.  I recall you said you were working on your Farsi.
