It is guided by laser and can targets facilities like bridges, MBT's, Command Centers and moving targets with high accuracy and destroy them.

به گزارش گروه دفاع و امنیت مشرق به نقل از اداره تبلیغاتی وزارت دفاع ، سردار وحيدي در مراسم رونمايي از مهمات بصير در جمع خبرنگاران طي سخناني با تبريك ايام الله دهه مبارك فجر و گراميداشت ياد و خاطره شهداي گرانقدر انقلاب اسلامي در تشريح اين دستاورد مهم اظهار داشت : اين مهمات كه به صورت ليزري هدايت مي‌شود براي نخستين بار در كشور توسط متخصصين زبده و كارآمد سازمان صنايع دفاع طراحي و ساخته شده است و قادر است اهداف مهمي همچون پل ها، تانك ها، ادوات جنگي مراكز فرماندهي و اهداف متحرك را با دقت بسيار بالا و به طور دقيق مورد اصابت قرار داده و منهدم نمايد.

وي افزود: سيستم ليزري بكارگرفته شده در آن قادر است اهداف مورد نظر را كشف، شناسايي، موقعيت يابي و مسافت‌يابي كند.

وزير دفاع گفت: درگيري در مناطق كوهستاني، خاكريزهاي دشمن، اهداف متحرك ، چند هدف ‌نزديك ، پناهگاه‌هاي مستحكم‌ دشمن و پدافند دشمن را از ويژگي‌هاي اين مهمات ذكر‌كرد.

سردار وحيدي ، روزآمدسازي و هوشمند‌سازي تجهيزات نيروهاي مسلح از طريق طراحي ، ساخت و توليد بومي را از راهبردهاي وزارت دفاع ذكر كرد و افزود : كار جدي و همه‌جانبه‌اي از مدت‌ها قبل در اين زمينه آغاز شد، كه امروز بخشي از نتايج آن در توليد مهمات هوشمند بصير مشاهده مي‌كنيد .

وزير دفاع با قدرداني از تلاش بي‌وقفه مديران ، كاركنان و متخصصان سازمان صنايع دفاع در طراحي و توليد نيازمندي‌هاي نيروهاي مسلح گفت اين دستاورد مهم مي‌تواند توان عملياتي – رزمي نيروهاي مسلح در انهدام ماشين جنگي و تجهيزات و امكانات دشمن را به نحو چشمگيري افزايش دهد .

سردار وحيدي در پايان اين موفقيت مهم را به محضر فرمانده معظم كل قوا ، فجرآفرينان عرصه صنعت دفاعي و آحاد ملت ايران تبريك گفت .

Using in battle and engagement in mountain areas, moving targets, close multi targets (several targets in short distance), strong shelters of enemy, enemy's defense are of its applications.

Vahidi says this product uses high-level of technologies, so that except USA and Russia the other 2-3 countries that have this capabilities acquired this capability by Technology Transfer from USA and Russia, but we designed and produced it domestically.

So this uses clearly a laser designation system. Very Interesting. I think this is the first system with laser designation used in Iran.

So they finally decided to hire Numbers, congrats!

IR-illumination is usually associated with short-range missiles (<<10km) not long range(?) artillery, so I wonder what kind of illuminator platforms they have in mind (which often carry their own missiles, incl. human combatants)... UAVs maybe?

Their upper part look similar but the lower part is completely different. Look at this:

Max range is 20 km. Lasr range: 15 km.

laser range depends strongly on weather and visibility. If there is sand or water vapor in the atmosphere its max distance will decrease. But normally it is operated by observers who are close and can see the target. It also depends on how big the target is. Small moving targets are hard to designate while stationary big ones are easier. So tactics play a role here

Iran Unveils Laser-Guided Smart Munitions

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Iranian Defense Ministry unveiled the country's first home-made laser-guided smart munitions in a ceremony here in Tehran on Monday.

The new type of ammunition, called Bassir, was unveiled by Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi in a ceremony in Defense Industries Organization.

Speaking to reporters, Vahidi said that the new munitions are suitable to target static and mobile targets with high precision strike.

"The laser system used in the munitions is able to track and identify targets and locate and assess their distance," Vahidi noted, adding that Iran is among the only five world countries which possess the capability to manufacture this types of munitions.

Yesterday, Vahidi had said that Iran plans to display several home-made achievements in different military and technological fields in the near future.

New home-made satellite carrier rockets, smart ammunition, aeronautic products, as well as new electronic and telecommunication devices will be unveiled, Vahidi told reporters after a cabinet meeting here in Tehran on Sunday.

He said that the new products would be unveiled during the Ten-Day Dawn ceremonies from February 1 to 11, celebrating the victory of the Islamic Revolution back in 1979.

The minister further announced that the country would unveil a new domestically-manufactured naval surveillance plane and a new cruise missile in the near future.

Iran has taken wide strides in designing and manufacturing different types of light, semi-heavy and heavy weapons, military tools and equipment. Tehran launched an arms development program during the 1980-88 Iraqi imposed war on Iran to compensate for a US weapons embargo. Since 1992, Iran has produced its own tanks, armored personnel carriers, missiles and fighter planes.

Yet, Iranian officials have always stressed that the country's military and arms programs serve defensive purposes and should not be perceived as a threat to any other country.
