I assume thats what they mean by Laser guided. That's how many models of the Hellfire and similar missiles are guided (semi-active laser guidance) such as the Chinese HJ-10. The thing is though both of these missiles only have ranges of say 7-8km not 10km as the Sadid. Another obviously difference is the Sadid is launched from a Tube whereas the Hellfire and similar missiles are normally fired from launch rails. To me, this suggests that the Sadid is dimensionally longer and smaller in diameter than these missiles.

I wonder if it is something similar to the Israeli Spike ER model. It is tube launched and has a range of 8km but uses a IR/CCD seeker not laser guidance. Just compared the images of the Sadid on the Shahed 285C mockup and this images of the Spike ER mounted on a Tiger Attack helicopter, I think the resemblence is fairly striking..

I was thinking of something more like the AT-11 rather then the SALH on the Hellfire where the missile "reads" the laser on the target.

I thought this might be the case given that the head of the missile is opaque without a visible seeker, and that we've already seen something like it (probably at least) on the Toophan-5/Qaem.

But  it might just be that the missile is a mockup for display.

The LAHAT http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LAHAT has a range of 8-13km when launched from air could it be similar to the LAHAT?

Its in the same rough range and size class so yes it could be. The difference being from what I know the LOHAT was designed first to be fired from tank cannons so it is not a tube launched system as the Sadid appears to be. But I think the LOHAT may be a bit too big compared to the Sadid but thats just my opinion.

As of late-2010 none are in service, with two prototypes, and four more were undergoing flight trials
