Eagle2009, you are wrong, Iran's army will go right through Iraq together with Iraqis and through Jordan.

There will be no need to airlift anything!

You will see Shia army will attack Israel from three sides! From Lebanon, From Jordan and from Syria!

Hamaz will do fifth column operation from inside! As one Iranian commander said, Israel will be finished for ever!

Even Turkey might employ her navy against Israel, but I will not bet the farm on it!

It is then that the former coward regime in Iraq choose to attack Iran. In it's weakest stage. As I recalled it, Saddam wanted to take over in 3 days which turned to weeks & ended up where he started after 8 years! Where was the Arab Qadasiyah face when Shah Reza Pahlavi was around along with the 5th strongest fighting force on the planet!

Today no Arab force( including Egypt's which most of you like to brag about is comparable to the quality of the Iranian Military ). Nor is the endurance of your people compared to mine; we are used to war time( shortage of everything ); whereas if the malls where suddenly to disappear, that would be seen as a crisis! While the Iranian People are brave & will take to the streets if they are convinced their elections were not fair; I don't see one person in Egypt speaking out against how Hossni Mubarak was able to win so many elections! The best your military did was the October war with Soviet Aid & the Eastern Block. We were able to turn back you, the West & the Soviets for 8 years! How long did your armies held back with support? 6 DAYS LOL WHAT A JOKE XD

Whatever you say Katty lol I couldnt disagree more....We're just gonna have to agree to disagree because you will never convince me that Iraq or Jordan will join in with an Iranian invasion..Not to mention Syria is a Sunni nation by majority not a Shia nation (the Assads are of a Shia sect but are a small minority in their nation). I just see no logic or reality in what you say but you clearly seem to believe so I doubt I can convince you otherwise.

she does have a point Eagle.... think about it a bit....they might not deploy 50,000-100,000 soldiers through them, but they might send around 1,000-2,000 guerrilla soldiers to help with Hamas and Hizbollah directly... but usually most of the Iranian attacks would be by missiles.

Eagle2009, logic and wisdom sometimes do not point to the same conclusion but wisdom is always right, but logic always find out what was underestimated when it had failed! Human brains will lack a capacity to handle issues with more than 5-6 unknown and computers are clueless about what is the issues and their interactions, specially in human and culture!

Iraq has oil, we occupy it and get rich, was very logical, wasn't it? Are you rich yet? Maybe after you occupy Iran you will get rich? Why do you think Britain washed her hand off from colonialism? I bet you that an average British is at least 20% smarter than average American from IQ point of view and Germans maybe another 10% higher!

How can Afghanistan defeat US and NATO army together, it is impossible and illogical! You and US logic is only good for finding reasons for failures! But wisdom says that when your defending your country, you make impossible possible and when you are on somebody else land you will fight like a chicken!

I am sure you will find a good reason why US had lost half of its navy and Israel lost to Hizbullah after that happens! But wise people on this forum are telling you that is exactly what will happen. Because they have been in Iran and have seen the power of masses and saw how Saddam was defeated by bare hands in the first months of his aggression!

Do not count so much on numbers and weapons, since you do not have a complete picture of the reality. For success everything should work as you plan, for failure it is enough for a few thing to go wrong!

Look at US operation in Tabas! What went wrong? Not so much, it was windy! Could you forecast it? Of course. Did you guys deemed it necessary to check the weather? No of course not, what can bad weather do to the operation?
the answer was, not only it can cancel it, it can kill half of your rescue personal on the ground!

This arrogance attitude even shows in your space programs, with your shuttles explode in the air left and right or with recent disaster in Golf of Mexico when it comes to simple matters of drilling a hole!

Your democracy is winning the price of stupidity! Coming to the ME and saying to people, we know that our democracy does not work in our own country and big money have bought the politicians and not a single law with some benefit for people will pass our congress, but US will promise that it will work just fine in Iraq and Afghanistan.

You know, go and sell these theories to your own populations with its leaders IQ in low 100s and with its politicians IQs at much lower!

Eagle2009: Airlifting the Iranian Army would be nothing short of a disaster! Simply because neither countries( Iran & Syria ) have a strong enough Air-Force in order for it to escort whatever it is that will transport the Iranian Army! Simply, all Israel would do is use it's advanced anti-air capabilities to shot down thousands of Iranian Soldiers. & if that isn't enough, they'll use they're air force to shoot down whats left of the Iranian army! So it'll be a massacre & an easy victory of Israel!

As for the Iranian Army marching all the way through Iraq, then Jordan & finally Syria before attacking Israel. That is, the stupidest thing the Iranian could think of! & I seriously doubt they'll do that because:

1) They are not dumb.
2) Iran would not have a secure line for supplies to reach it's army as they advance.
3) They would be walking into a trap, every step they take; since they'll have to march on enemy controlled area.

4) The Iranian Army would be vulnerable to missile as well as air-strikes( the whole way ).
5) It's a very long way; that means that the Iranian Army would be exhausted & not battle ready by the time they reach Israel( if they even get close )

6) Transferring tanks & vehicles that far would be near impossible! Since they'll have to refuel probably some 50 times!

+ I don't know what gave you the idea that it's an easy matter to walk across these imaginary lines or as we call it borders! In fact, Jordan for sure would never allow Iranian Soldiers to walk on their soil.

Finally Ali.N: Posting what I did post earlier; I admit i have to apologize to the Arabs who would be offended after reading what I said. So I am sincerely sorry. Especially the Iraqis & Egyptians.

Wow..do you feel better now that you got that rant out of your system? lol..Though I admit I'm getting a little sick of everyone just assuming that I have the same line of thinking as all Americans and that I support everything my country does and that I think my countries military is invincible...All of which I have pointed out before as not being true..We are losing in Afghanistan for the same reason everyother major foreign army has. Unlike most Americans I have studied the Middle East extensively both its history, its politics, and its various militaries. For this reason I stand by my logic because it is informed logic as opposed to most of my fellow citizens who simply think we can beat anyone no matter what. Is my logic perfect? hardly, no one's is. But I would like to think my knowledge of the region gives me at least a fairly educated ability to make logical scenarios. Have I every claimed to be right 100% time? Nope, I have not that stupid or ignorant and I am always to the first to admit I may be wrong about something but I stand by my conclusions on such a war. However:

I do believe that if Israel attacked Iran, that there would likely be many (thousands) of young Shia men who would be willing to fight Israel and journey into Syria and Join the fight (assuming Syria invades Israel after such a strike), we saw this during the first years of the Iraq war with Sunnis from lebanon and Syria joining anti-american militias in Iraq. I merely disagree that the Iraqi Government will join in such a war since they are too busy with internal issues and their military is hardly ready for war.

Iraq is irrelevant, they are bankrupt in many ways, and once the US troops get out Iran can take men and supplies accross the border with ease. were already waltzing into their territories fighting PJAK, while all Iraq does is moan and beg that we leave...which we wont. getting gear through Iraq isnt an issue.

If Iran goes to war with Israel it wont be just Israel vs Iran; Hell will break lose.

No one knows where Iran could possibly attack and what will the PEOPLE of the region do. They all just ASSUME they know. But im guessing the first priority, for Iran, is to destroy the US navy in Persian Gulf waters.

Can Iran blow the US Navy out of Persian Gulf waters? They are sitting ducks in my opinion. They cant defend against a swarm of small boats armed to the teeth. They can defend against 5, but not 50 on 1 boat. 50 destroyers would need 250 small boats, this is due able.

The real damage that can be done to Iran is through the US Air Force. If that can be neutralized, Iran will march ''barayeh azadi'e qods as karbala bayad gozasht''.

This "odds against them" talk about Israel is getting old. Basically, in the first war when Israel was not a regional superpower but just established, they won the war because of their surprise-elements, their morale, and THE FACT THAT ARABS DIDN'T GET AMMO/SUPPLIES while Israel did. Transjordan would have won sooner or later had they not been cut off from the UK(and UK knew this obviously, their bias was by then obvious for many). No war was ever against Israeli odds.

Based on what analysis you come with this ridiculous low number. I am telling you, we will have at least around 200,000 regular Pasdar and Basij willing to go though Iraq/Jordan and Syria/Lebanon to fight. Volunteers from Iran is a in million range!

Only volunteers from Iraq will be more than your estimate, not mention Palestinians in Jordan who want an excuse to join in!

not enough time to 'BOOM' 50 boats at one times; they may get 10 if theyre fast enough. all we need is 10 of them to successfully hit the target (which im sure more than that will) and that will surely mess up yer fishing ships. were not even factoring the noor and kowsar missiles...lol theyd really mess those ships of yours up.
