Pentagon Readies Muscles aganst Iran, says Russian Media Imagen activaMoscow, Feb 11 (Prensa Latina) The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of the United States readies its muscles against Iran, while focusing on a powerful war machine with the involvement of Arab states in the Persian Gulf, local media reported on Saturday.
Local media reports cited Israeli sources which referred to a deployment in this country of about 10,000 US soldiers to test a new missile defense system.
According to the Interfax Information Services Group, USAF fighters operates from the Sinai peninsula, flying over Saudi Arabia to reach the Persian Gulf.
According to the Israeli media, the U.S. military movement to the al-Ubeid air base, in Qatar, included a squadron of six B-1B bombers, large transport aircrafts such as the C-17 (Globemaster) and C-130, and for refueling like the RC-135 and RC-10.
In addition, the air deployment also included some P-3 of naval intelligence, and AWACS E-8 planes of distant location, early warning and air flight direction, usually based on aircraft carriers.
For several days, troops and combat techniques were arriving to the U.S. naval base on the Masira island, in Oman, located southwest of the Strait of Hormuz.
The U.S. also concentrated in Kuwait three brigades, including one of airborne assault with a total of 15,000 soldiers, in addition to its naval, air, and land bases in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, Oman, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
