Cool!

Observations:

- The Alvand-class frigate Sabalan is being overhauled. This is probably the vessel visible on Google Earth from January 2011 though it's been moved up further into the drydock and a resupply ship, also visible on GE in a floating dry-dock to the south of the Ghadir construction areas, has been moved in behind it. The Sabalan probably entered overhaul as it returned from it's operations in the Gulf of Aden last September.

- The Hendijan support ship "A1402" has been equipped with Noor/C-802 AShMs that appear to have replaced the crane and lifeboat at the back of the craft.

- New electronics fit for the Kilo 903 Yunis. I can't say anything more then that at the moment though

- Pity to see one of the few Mk.5A BH-7s left (#106) sitting out in the elements on bare dirt.

- I'm of the opinion that these new submarines are just Ghadirs in various stages of construction and/or overhaul

Where did you see this? I never heard of 'Hendijan'! Do you mean 'Hengam'?

One fundamental feature of a hovercraft is that it can travel on both land and sea. There is nothing wrong
seeing this type on dirt. But I can only assume that it has been brought to this location of the base
to make the trip for Khamenei easier since the base is very large and he had to be transported to several locations
around the base in extreme heat. Incidentally, I can only assume that the BH-7 was being visited sololy because it had been upgraded.

False! Not the case here although there are some Ghadirs under construction.

This submarine certainly has a different screw than Ghadir

The tender craft, in front of the Bayandor, opposite the sub berths in the eastern side of the harbour.

EDIT - I actually can't tell the scale to say whether they're Noors. At any rate, they're some sort of AShMs.

Probably right, the main pad for the BH7s is paved.

Side note....compare the state of the tarmac at the BA IRIN aviation base (not the TAB) from the latest GE imagery (January 2011) vs the last imagery date (November 2010). It looks in pretty narly (or at least, repaired) Not sure what to make of it.

BTW when will be the Navy Day? Usually they inaugurate the new ships during the Navy Day but I dont think these subs will be ready this summer.

I think they have around twelve at the disposal. That is not nearly enough.I got the feeling that many members here does not rate ghadirs very much but my personal opinion is they can be very very useful against destroyers and frigates and considering their torpedo ability specialy  useful against oil tankers and trade ships in case of war.The submarines on this picture does not look like ghadirs. They are around 35 to45 meters long and ghadir is only 29meters long.

Ayyash,

My problem is that when I compare the size of the subs to the men working on them i don't see Ghadirs (in one hanger at least).
Also, there are some obvious differences between Ghadirs and what I see as Qaeems in the images.

The 'new' subs may not be Qaeems either but a new version of Ghadirs, this is not unrealistic given Iran has been manufacturing Ghadirs for long enough.

The only thing that throws me off is that the new subs don't quite match the size of Qaeem as I expected. So, I am at the loss to clearly tell what I see.

Incidentally, looking more carefully, I see three subs under construction here:

Ayyash,

My problem is that when I compare the size of the subs to the men working on them i don't see Ghadirs (in one hanger at least).
I can't find any significant differences in dimensions between the Ghadir and these submarines. Like icebergs where the majority of the ice is underwater, so to on a submarine it appears a lot smaller when it's running on the surface then when it's sitting above water like in these pictures.

- If you look at the building on GE (large blue building on the southern side of the harbor) you can see that when you subtract a small amount on either end for the unoccupied space visible in the photos the length of the mystery submarines hovers around 30 m, exactly the same as a Ghadir

- The sail is about as tall as a person standing on the deck, same as the Ghadir.

- Full hull height is about 2 persons tall (approx) which matches the Ghadir

- The external stowage locker and forward hand rails are in the same place on the Ghadir

- Configuration of nose is identical to the Ghadir

What do you see that is specifically different then on a Ghadir?

you can also see noor missiles mounted on the old hovercrafts. I might be wrong but I think its a  first timer. It goes to show that the noor missile production is in such full scale that is it virtually mounted on every vessel the IRIN has.

it's time to nut up or shut up!

You have good eyes!  ;)  I think these are patrol craft (Parvin Class).

I'm looking at the Hendijan behind the Parvin patrol boat.

Southernmost ship is the Bayandor(82), followed by the Hendijan with the Noors(1402), followed by a Parvin with smaller (Kowsar) AShMs(213).

OK, it seems we refer to the same vessel. But what I said was "Parvin" was in fact "Hendijan" class.
