Yunis , as Eagle mentioned, is a Russian Kilo Class sub. What the Arab media may be referring to is the overhaul operation of this sub that was done in Iran. I ran owns three of such submarines and Yunis is the first one that entered service with IRIN. As such, it was the first one out of the three that needed overhaul.
The overhaul completed on Yunis was very extensive and, according to IRIN, some systems were also upgraded with Iranian technology. Iran took on this massive task w/o any prior experience overhauling such class of subs.
