Poem & Quotes of the Day
« on: March 14, 2012, 12:41:24 PM »
0
To dream the impossible dream,
To fight the unbeatable foe,
To bear with unbearable sorrow,
To right the unrightable wrong,
To love pure and chase from afar,
To try when your arms are too weary,
To reach the unreachable star,
No matter how hopeless,
No matter how far,
To fight for the right,
Without question or pause,
To be willing to march into hell for a heavenly cause,
And I know if i'll only be true to this glorious quest,
Then my heart will be peaceful and calm,
When I'm laid to my rest,
And the world will be better for this,
That one man scorned and covered with scars,
Still strove with his last ounce of courage,
To reach the unreachable star.

Here is another powerful text...

Man in black by Johnny Cash (the song is too jolly for my taste but the text is deeply humanistic)

"Man In Black"

Well, you wonder why I always dress in black,
Why you never see bright colors on my back,
And why does my appearance seem to have a somber tone.
Well, there's a reason for the things that I have on.

I wear the black for the poor and the beaten down,
Livin' in the hopeless, hungry side of town,
I wear it for the prisoner who has long paid for his crime,
But is there because he's a victim of the times.

I wear the black for those who never read,
Or listened to the words that Jesus said,
About the road to happiness through love and charity,
Why, you'd think He's talking straight to you and me.

Well, we're doin' mighty fine, I do suppose,
In our streak of lightnin' cars and fancy clothes,
But just so we're reminded of the ones who are held back,
Up front there ought 'a be a Man In Black.

I wear it for the sick and lonely old,
For the reckless ones whose bad trip left them cold,
I wear the black in mournin' for the lives that could have been,
Each week we lose a hundred fine young men.

And, I wear it for the thousands who have died,
Believen' that the Lord was on their side,
I wear it for another hundred thousand who have died,
Believen' that we all were on their side.

Well, there's things that never will be right I know,
And things need changin' everywhere you go,
But 'til we start to make a move to make a few things right,
You'll never see me wear a suit of white.

Ah, I'd love to wear a rainbow every day,
And tell the world that everything's OK,
But I'll try to carry off a little darkness on my back,
'Till things are brighter, I'm the Man In Black.

I like that poem;

Here is a nice quote by Tupac Shakur, a revolutionary in his own right.

"Point me to my grave, I'd rather die than be a slave
Slaves come as dopedealers Some come as addicts
Some come to run while the others cause static"

Here is a quote from Tupac to I think...

"If you dont have anything to live for, make sure to have something to die for"

I just love it, makes death so anticipated...
You are once again threatened my beloved homeland,
I shall defend you until the last breath,
We embrace death if that's what it takes to save you, we have lived by Bushido code all along.

That might be a quote recycled by Tupac, it's a great quote.

Here is a poem by him, whenever people would try to accuse him of being 'bad', or what not;
-----------------------------------------------------------------

The Rose That Grew From Concrete by Tupac

Did you hear about the rose that grew from a crack in the concrete?
Proving nature's law is wrong it learned to walk with out having feet.
Funny it seems, but by keeping it's dreams, it learned to breathe fresh air.
Long live the rose that grew from concrete when no one else ever cared.

----------------------------------

Speaking of anticipating death;

In the event of my Demise by Tupac

In the event of my Demise
when my heart can beat no more
I Hope I Die For A Principle
or A Belief that I had Lived 4
I will die Before My Time
Because I feel the shadow's Depth
so much I wanted 2 accomplish
before I reached my Death
I have come 2 grips with the possibility
and wiped the last tear from My eyes
I Loved All who were Positive
In the event of my Demise

I have built my organization upon fear.
Al Capone

If an injury has to be done to a man it should be so severe that his vengeance need not be feared.
Niccolo Machiavelli

Niccolo Machiavelli
