I am Armenian Apostolic. Our church is unique. We are separate from Orthodox, Catholic, and obviously Protestant churches. We are pretty much our own separate branch, that fall under the label "oriental orthodoxy" which includes just a handful of churches, most notably the Coptic Church and Assyrian.

Muslim`s believe that the universe and everything in it, is one. That is why we go to mecca and revolve around it, like the universe does, to signify unity among humans of many different races and positions.

In society, we are all cast based on our intellectual and material worth. In an ideal islamic society, we are all one and equal and each one person is just another `cell`of a greater being (society, universe) and therefore going to Mecca to perform pilgirmage, signifies the unity and equality among`st these different cells.

I however will not be doing this wonderful pilgrimage, due to my strong displeasure of al saud regime occupying Mecca.

A friend of mine once said "we are all muslim" and in a lot of ways he's right, from the meaning of the word to how people will accept things once they understand the universe.

about the poll, just want to comment being unaligned does not necessarily make you atheist.

atheism is specifically a denial of the existence of a God and often supernatural forces by extension..

just because you don't belong to a religion doesn't mean you are atheist, you may still believe God exists or that there are supernatural forces at work in this universe.

this doesn't really apply to me in any way, just wanted to point this out.

Hmmm..Shouldn't you be more concerned about how Christianity has been twisted over the ages to suits ones comfort level than being concerned about the "understanding" of it the members have here on this forum ?

Todays christianity looks more like an underwear than a religion to me which can be easilly changed the way one wants.

Who cares what a religion looks like? Only superficial ritualists. The core is the faith and the relationship between the person and god. The church, the mosque, the pope or the imam are nothing. Whether you cross your hands, kneel to the ground, rise or lower your eyes... irrelevant.

I thought my point was concise. Christianity is fractured into sects, each believing they are the sole possessors of divine truth. Many militantly so. Some do wear their Christianity as you describe. I would say they are "cultural" Christians as opposed to religious Christians who take their Christianity personally.

Does not Islam suffer similarly?

Yes, it is human nature. Your comment, however, on changing the definition of God, goes back to my original point. Christianity has not "twisted" God's definition. I think all Christians agree on Christ's divinity, the Son of God in that he was God's manifestation in human form, sacrificed for all to redeem them from sin. Proving God's loving nature seeking to redeem all who will believe from their sins against Him.

If most Muslims believe as you say, why are Christians persecuted throughout the Islamic world?

As to Christ being the Son of God, you are entitled to your beliefs and I, mine.

Christians believe that Christ's suffering was God's will to atone for the sin of mankind as the perfect sacrifice. Frankly, I'm hardly qualified to fathom the mind of God or to pass judgment upon his actions. You may feel you are, but I, certainly, am not.

The reason jesus christ was sent on earth was to open our eyes to the fact that we humans are so disgusting and deplorable that we could even give pain and torture the most purest soul on heaven and earth for our wordly gains..
