Yes, i dig it out!  :P

Is there any news about some new advances in iranian LASER-technologie? In this video they claimed that Iran can produce 1KW LASER ... 2 years ago ^^. The US sank a rubber dinghy with a 1 KW LASER some month ago. In germany there are prototypes with 1/5/10 KW shooting down incomming shells and UAVs. Is there any news that Iran do progress (or outflank) in the same field?

There are reports that iran blinded a CIA spy satellite by aiming a laser burst to it.

Thanks for the links :) Hmm, based on the video iran has the ability to blind a optical spysat by laser since minimum two years. What is about news with laserweapons? Anyone?

Baku. Konul Jafarli – APA. Iran presents its new laser weapon “Basar”, Iran’s state-run television said. Iranian defense minister Ahmad Vahedi also participated in the ceremony.

The weapon was built by the Iranian experts.

No details were given about the weapon, but it was said that “Basar” will be used for destroying mobile facilities near the bridges, tank and combat means. The gun can determine targets, its place and is effective against the self-defense systems and shelters in the mountainous areas.

I think they meant Basir, that smart 155 mm round.

Wait a second, when they mean by blinding spy satellite do they mean temporarily blind as long as laser beam is directed toward sat. or permanent blindness of optic instruments on board because laser can do damage if enough powerful to do so???

It was sure temporarily. If Iran could build a laser which burn a hole in a sattelite some hundred miles away, then Iran wont need any SAM or AAA or tank-cannon any more...

no surprise it roots back to sary Shagan Terra-3 laser facility , Soviet union had fielded sat Blinding lasers in tajikestan before
