Iran Tightens Supervision over Nanomedical Products TEHRAN (FNA)- The Iranian Health Ministry announced that it has approved registration regulations for nano-based medical products.
The regulation specifies the requirements necessary for registration and acquisition of relevant certifications/approvals for nanotech-based medicines and provides helpful information for medicine producers and importing companies.
Due to their special and more complex nature, nano-tech based medicines are required to pass special quality tests rather than those compulsory for ordinary medicines.
The INIC in collaboration with several supervisory governmental organizations like the Institute of Standards and Industrial Research of Iran, Ministry of Health and Medical Education, and Ministry of Agricultural Jihad tries to code several standards regarding the production and use of nanotech-based medical products.
The efforts have resulted in the codification of 2 national standards in the described field and promotion of Iran as an active member in the world ISO committee.
