Spot on..A country who's army needs permission to open fire on enemy forces is not fit for purpose..The US murdered 24 or so  of soldiers and their excuse was that they couldn't fire back because they didn't have orders to shoot..That sums it up :)

Pakistan are ruled by cowards and secular mafia of which Musharraf was a member. This speculation could have had some sort of reality if people like former leader zia were in charge and but would be assassinated like him.

Pakistan generals profit from mayhem, communists say

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said this week that U.S. forces would end their combat role in Afghanistan in 2013, ostensibly ending the 12-year war there. With financial and budget crises in Europe and the United States, war spending has become a major issue among the NATO allies.

In a recent analysis, the Communist Party of Pakistan says the Obama administration is interested in working out a political settlement in Afghanistan "in order to cut down its colossal expenditures there."

A U.S.-friendly government in Kabul is one of the White House goals, the party says. But that would mean a big blow to Pakistan's military-industrial complex, which is profiting mightily from "jihad dividends," says the statement.

The statement, issued by the party's international department, paints a picture of two power centers in Pakistan: the military and the civilian government.

This "tussle among its top institutions" has grievous consequences for Pakistan, Afghanistan and the region, the party says.

Despite withholding some $700 million from Pakistan last summer, the U.S. has over the past decades supported Pakistan with billions of dollars in military aid.

"Under U.S. imperialism's patronage, for the last 40 years or so, almost all five-star generals and major generals have become billionaires," says the Pakistan CP. "Down to the rank of major, they have become millionaires."

The party calls the Pakistani military an "industrial and business corporation," in direct competition with the civilian government, which the military seeks to control.

These financial interests have fueled the policy that supports Taliban extremists and other shady networks in Pakistan and the region, the party suggests.

The reason the military supports mayhem is also found in its attitude towards India, according to the statement. The civilian government wants to normalize relations with its neighbor, while the military wants to justify its budget by keeping alive security fears over Kashmir, and the perceived encirclement of Pakistan by India. (India is playing an enhanced role in Afghanistan and that means Pakistan would be surrounded by the military's long-time enemy.)

However, there may be agreement between Pakistan's elected government and the military in one area: U.S. war threats towards Iran.

The Pakistani party suggests that - as in Pakistan with its two power centers - the military (along with extremist religious forces) and the civilian government (that includes the presidency and Parliament), there are two power centers in the United States regarding Iran. One is the White House and the other is the Pentagon, they say.

In their view, the Pentagon is seeking logistical support and help from the Pakistan army in the wake of possible military action against Iran. On the other hand, the party says, Pakistan's civilian government is trying to tactfully maneuver the White House to divert any impending U.S. military action against Iran.

While it's not clear how the generals will respond to Pentagon pressure, there is significant possibility they will strongly object.

Much of Pakistan's current crisis over Afghanistan is directly related to Cold War politics and the United States unrelenting drive for military and economic supremacy over any rival. U.S. and Pakistan formed an alliance during the 1980s to build up far-right forces cloaked in religion to fight the Soviet Union in Afghanistan.

France's Figaro Magazine mocking Iranian military

France's right wing "Figaro Magazine", which recently published inappropriate pictures of a runaway Iranian "actress", had previously scoffed at Iran's armed forces on gratuitious and invented grounds. This publication seems to be engaged in an organized and sustained anti-Iranian psychological propaganda effort.

http://www.lefigaro.fr/photos/2011/09/26/01013-20110926DIMWWW00671-24-heures-photo.php

The four pictures were taken from last year's Sacred Defence Week. Notice that while the first picture might be somewhat uncommon, all others are absolutely ordinary for a military parade. France holds comparable parades itself. Yet the journal's shameless comment translates as follows:

Quote
"As far as we can remember, we never witnessed such a carnival in our work as commentators. Even North Korea held itself back. As for Iran, however, it dared. In order to celebrate the 31st anniversary of the start of the Iran-Iraq war (1980-1988) the Iranian government decided to organize a gigantic military parade and a "grandiose ceremony" to the glory of war veterans and the Iranian army. The soldiers and members of the country's numerous paramilitary organizations marched in garments each more phoney than the previous. But, beyond the grotesquesness, perhaps Iranian authorities wanted to show a new secret weapon: don't we say ridiculousness kills?"

The statement reflects a mix of ignorance, arrogance and western-centric superiority complexes. But such nonsense is part of the corporate media's program to brainwash the western public through intensive attempts not only at demonizing but also belittling the achievements of any government and people opposed to western imperial hegemony.

Britain draws up war plan against Iran

London: Britain is reportedly drawing up a battle plan for a war with Iran as top defence officials believe London will be "sucked into" any new conflict with Tehran.

Plans are being made to send hundreds of troops and an nuclear submarine to the Gulf region, The Sun reported.

Defence officials believe it is just a matter of when the war breaks out -- with the timescale set between 18 and 24 months.

"Ministry of defence planners went into overdrive at the start of the year. Conflict is seen as inevitable as long as the regime pursue their nuclear ambitions. Britain would be sucked in whether we like it or not, probably via Iranian attacks on our forces in Afghanistan next door to them," an unnamed official said.

The report said Britain will first fly an infantry battalion to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the country's strong ally in the Gulf region.

It would also mean a "public show of support" that would demonstrate that Britain was ready to defend the UAE if it comes under attack from Iran.

The UAE is separated from Iran by just over 50 km of sea across the Strait of Hormuz.

If other allies like Oman, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Qatar ask for help, Britain could fly in further troops.

The Royal Navy has already gathered seven warships in the Gulf.

The HMS Daring, a powerful destroyer, arrived in January to join Type 23 frigate HMS Argyll.

Minesweepers Pembroke, Quora, Middleton and Ramsey are based in Bahrain and a nuclear submarine is reportedly also in the area, the report said.

Under the war plan, a second submarine armed with Tomahawk cruise missiles would be deployed.

The Royal Air Force would send Typhoon and Tornado fighter jets to reinforce helicopter and transport plane crews already stationed in Qatar, Oman, Bahrain and the UAE.

This article in fact said that this is BS. But I'm sure that our bomb will be tested by North Korea. This way they won't have any proof that we have any functional bombs. But they "know" that we do. Just like Israel.
